This Omega Speedmaster From The Moon to Mars is an absolute gem, especially in such near perfect condition. If you’re after a piece that represents Omega’s role in space and its future in watchmaking, this is the one. The piece comes with box and warranty cards, it also includes spare links with all split pins.
The Omega Speedmaster Professional "From Moon to Mars" (model number 3577.50.00) features the Omega 1861 manual winding chronograph movement, which is based on the legendary Lemania 1873. The movement has a power reserve of 48 hours, operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), and includes 18 jewels.
The case is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of 42mm and a thickness of 14.3mm. It has a solid steel case back with an engraving and a stainless steel bezel featuring a black aluminium tachymeter scale insert. The front crystal is Hesalite (acrylic) with the Omega logo in the center. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters (167 feet).
The dial is black, featuring three unique subdials that represent Earth, the Moon, and Mars. The 30minute counter at 3 o’clock features an Earth design, the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock features a Moon design, and the continuous seconds subdial at 9 o’clock features a Mars des ign. The hands are luminous batons for the hours and minutes, with a central chronograph hand. Applied luminous hour markers are used for the indexes, and the dial includes the Omega logo and Speedmaster Professional Chronograph text.
The chronograph function includes a central chronograph seconds hand, a 30 minute counter, and a 12 hour counter, with a tachymeter scale on the bezel for measuring speed.
The bracelet is stainless steel with a 20mm lug width and a folding clasp engraved with the Omega logo. The watch is a limited edition model that pays homage to Omega’s space heritage, featuring subdials dedicated to Earth, the Moon, and Mars. The case back is engraved with "Flight-Qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" and "The First Watch Worn on the Moon," further emphasizing its connection to space exploration.
This watch has one owner from new, purchased from an Omega boutique in April 2012.
