Our hope that the new June Swatch x Omega collaboration might involve the Omega Seamaster seems to be fading away. Many of us were excited by the prospect of a Seamaster themed collection.
However, after visiting boutiques, seeing the displays and speaking to Swatch Team Members we now suspect that this new release is an extension of the Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch range.
The team visited a few London Swatch boutiques to investigate the buzz. Today, we delve into the latest anticipation; the Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch "Mission On Earth" collection, and share what we know.
Swatch Release Two Teasers
On June 7th and 8th, Swatch released two intriguing teasers on their social media pages, sparking excitement and speculation. The first teaser, posted on June 7th, was a brief but captivating 30 second video. It featured a series of cryptic visuals, displaying four stunning shots of Earth from space.
These visuals highlighted the seas, clouds, a volcano, and the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. The video concluded with the text "June 2024," leaving viewers eagerly anticipating what was to come.
Just 24 hours later, on June 8th, Swatch unveiled a second teaser. This video showcased a blue flight case containing 11x MoonSwatches, suspended above the Earth. Then, a smaller turquoise green flight case appeared, pushing the larger one aside.
The turquoise case, prominently displayed with the Omega x Swatch logo on the lid, hints at an exciting new development. While the exact details of the product remain unknown, all evidence points to MoonSwatch.
The anticipation is building, and fans are eagerly waiting for more information about this upcoming release.
First Impressions from the Swatch Store Display
Why we think It's a MoonSwatch
During our visit to the Swatch stores, the window displays prominently featured the small turquoise flight case seen in the teaser. This eye catching case immediately stood out as a significant feature. Currently, it remains securely closed inside a Perspex box, it is significantly smaller than the original blue flight case of 11x, large enough to hold up to 4x watches.
Alongside this, the Swatch x Omega logo and the "Mission On Earth" strapline suggest that this new collection is an extension of the MoonSwatch range. The Swatch x Omega logo is identical to the rest of the MoonSwatch collection, and the text matches the font seen on the Mission On Earth MoonSwatch product boxes.
Imagery and Inspiration
The display also included a backdrop banner, showcasing striking images of the Northern Lights, a desert, and a volcano. These visuals are likely to inspire the designs of the forthcoming watches. A collection of timepieces that encapsulates the beauty of the Northern Lights or the rugged majesty of a volcano branded Mission on Earth.
What We Know So Far
The Anticipated Collection
While precise details remain undisclosed, it is anticipated that the "Mission On Earth" collection will feature three or four distinct models. Each watch is expected to draw inspiration from the Northern Lights, desert, and volcano themes showcased in the display.
Design and Features
Although specifics are yet to be confirmed, we can anticipate a blend of innovative materials and striking new colours. The turquoise flight case hints at a bold and adventurous theme. What remains unknown is the movement type; following the Mission to MoonPhase Snoopy MoonSwatch, it would be exciting to see a new complication introduced as part of this collection.

Despite the store teams remaining tight lipped, customers eagerly inspected the window display and took photos. Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch June Release Date
The release date for the new Swatch x Omega collaboration is 15th June 2024. Swatch teams told us they will unveil the watches for display on the 11th June.
The anticipation for the Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch Mission On Earth collection is set to be a standout release. While many of us were hoping for a Swatch x Seamaster collaboration, it seems we will have to wait a bit longer for that dream to materialise.
